The country highly appreciated Vietnam’s market potential for seafood products as well as its interest in Indonesia’s fishery sector, said by Indonesian Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ministry’s director general of fish production, marketing and processing Saut Hutagalung.
Indonesia’s export turnover of shrimp, crab, seaweed and ornamental fish to Vietnam in this January hit 27.36 million USD, increased 32.24 per cent compared to the same period last year. Also, Indonesia has planned to boost its seafood exports to Viet Nam, its only strategic partnership nation in Southeast Asia.
It is expected that Indonesia’s seafood export turnover to Viet Nam in 2014 will reach US$100 million.
