Ivory Coast: Berte Mamadou was appointed interim Director General of the Cotton and Cashew Council.
The Board of Directors of the Ivory Coast Cotton and Cashew Council (CCA) appointed Berté Mamadou as the new interim Director General of the Council on Thursday, July 11, 2024, replacing Dr. Adama Coulibaly, who was recently dismissed from his position.
At an extraordinary meeting held on the 23rd floor of the Caistab building, the members of the board unanimously elected Berté Mamadou, former Deputy Executive Director, to assume the role of Executive Director General of the Cotton and Cashew Council. He will hold this position temporarily until a new Director General is officially appointed.
The decision was taken under the supervision of the Minister of State, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Food Production, Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani, who approved the decision of the Board of Directors. The Minister also provided practical advice and recommendations to the new interim Director General, wishing him every success in his new assignment.
The Head of State of Côte d’Ivoire, Alassane Ouattara, has decided to relieve Mr. Fausseni Dembélé, Director General of the Ivorian Radio and Television, and Dr. Adama Coulibaly, Director General of the Cotton and Cashew Board, from their duties on July 10, 2024, following a series of inspections that revealed deficiencies and problems in the management and administration of several public enterprises.
