The plan aims to enhance awareness and responsibility among organizations and individuals, strengthen disease management and surveillance capacity, and ensure biosecurity, food safety, and environmental protection. It also seeks to enable early detection and timely response to disease outbreaks, contributing to the sustainable development of the aquaculture sector.
Key diseases under monitoring include white spot disease (WSD), acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease (AHPND), IHHND, EHP, Taura syndrome (TS), yellow head disease (YHD), DIV1, NHP, HPD, and IMN in shrimp; enteric septicemia of catfish (ESC) and hemorrhagic disease in pangasius; Perkinsus in mollusks; viral nervous necrosis (VNN) in marine fish; spring viremia of carp (SVC), koi herpesvirus (KHV), and Streptococcus in freshwater fish; and tilapia lake virus (TiLV) in tilapia.
The plan also outlines key measures such as strengthening communication and awareness, enhancing environmental monitoring, and developing disease-free aquaculture zones. The Department of Agriculture and Environment is assigned to lead the implementation, develop annual plans and budget estimates, and submit them for approval in accordance with regulations.
