Pangasius production increased in March 2025

As of March and the first quarter of 2025, the fisheries sector has recorded positive growth in both aquaculture and capture fisheries.

The harvest volumes of pangasius and whiteleg shrimp during the month rose compared to the same period in 2024, driven by higher raw material prices, expanded export markets, and the successful application of intensive and super-intensive whiteleg shrimp farming models, which have yielded significant economic benefits.

Pangasius production in March 2025 is estimated at 155.8 thousand metric tons, representing an increase of 4.5% compared to March 2024. The growth in pangasius harvest volume during the month is attributed to the rise in raw pangasius prices and the expansion of exports to key international markets.
