National Assembly Vice Chairman Tran Quang Phuong on Monday proposed continued engagement between Vietnam and China at all levels, including regular meetings, effective implementation of existing cooperation mechanisms, and deeper collaboration in various fields.
During Monday reception in Hanoi for Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress of China Fu Ziying, Phuong advocated for increased exchanges between localities, people-to-people interactions, and knowledge sharing related to legislative functions, as well as strengthening the supervisory role in the implementation of agreements the two sides have signed.
Fu said that in the future, a crucial priority is to promote the bilateral traditional friendship and deepen the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries.
The same day, meeting Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress of China Fu Ziying, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu asked that China continue to open its market for Vietnamese seafood, fruits, beef, and poultry, boost cooperation in transportation connectivity, especially railway projects, and remove obstacles in several industrial cooperation projects.
He said the two sides should control disagreements at sea, maintain peace and stability, and respect each other’s legitimate rights in line with international law, including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.
