The Ministry also sent a delegation led by the leader of the ministry to work with the people’s committee and the Customs Department of Guangxi and Yunnan provinces (China) from from May 29 to June 2, in order to promote cooperation and increase trade turnover of agricultural products between the two countries through the gateways of provinces sharing a land border.
MARD has just sent a diplomatic note to the General Administration of Customs People Republic of China requesting consideration of some additional fruits, species, aquatic products export to China.
The delegation agreed with the Customs of Guangxi and Yunnan provinces (China) to coordinate and propose to the General Department of Customs of China to soon complete the procedures for signing the “Protocol between the General Administration of Customs People Republic of China and the Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on food safety, quarantine and inspection requirements for imported aquatic products between Vietnam and China”. Besides, considering adding a number of fruits, species, aquatic products and a number of enterprises permitted to export seafood to China that have been inspected by Vietnamese authorities to meet the requirements as prescribed in order 248, 249 of China Customs. At the same time, the Ministry proposed to allow the export of live seafood through border gates in Yunnan province in order to reduce clearance pressure between border gates and create maximum favorable conditions for businesses.
The Ministry also suggested that the General Department of Customs of China direct the Customs Department of Guangxi and Yunnan provinces to strengthen exchanges of professional processes; Update information to promptly handle problems, and improve customs clearance capacity. Organizing the annual rotating meeting in November every year between the provincial Customs Department and the competent authorities of Vietnam; appoint focal units to regularly contact and exchange work.
